Ingredients

8 cups flour

4 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

4 tablespoons aniseed

3 eggs

1 cup shortening

1/2 cup oil

1/2 cup sugar

3 cups milk

Description

This is a recipe made famous by Nana Mary (Mary Petrolia), then perfected by Nonna Piazza (Concetta Piazza)

Directions

Mix all dry with shortening and the mix wet ingredients in.
Knead it until sticks together .

Roll rolls and the cut into 10 cm lengths and then bake until bottom is a little coloured at 350 °.

Take them out of oven and separate them in half with a fork and the turn over and bake them in oven at 300° until crispy.
