6 cups cold mashed potatoes
2 cups meat sauce with peas*
1/2 cup bread crumbs
This is the Italian counterpart to Shepherd’s Pie. It is a good dish to make with leftover mashed potatoes and meat sauce.

Grease a 9 by 9 inch square pan.
Place half of the mashed potatoes in the pan and spread evenly and press down with fork.
Pour the meat sauce with peas on top of the mashed potatoes and spread evenly across.
Place the rest of the mashed potatoes over the sauce and spread evenly and press down.
Sprinkle bread crumbs on top and bake in 350° for about 20 min. until crumbs are lightly toasted. Cut into square portions and serve.
