1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
1-1/2 cups water
1-1/2 cups lime juice
(10 -12 limes)

In small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to boil, stirring to dissolve sugar; boil for 5 minutes. Let cool; stir in lime juice. Transfer to jar, cover and refrigerate until chilled. ( Syrup can be refrigerated for up to one week.)
In pitcher, stir syrup with 9 cups cold water. Add 5 ice cubes; garnish with lemon slices. Makes 12 cups (3 L), about 8 servings.
